Surah Az-Zalzalah ( The Earthquake ) - Aya count 8

إِذَا زُلْزِلَتِ ٱلْأَرْضُ زِلْزَالَهَا ﴿١﴾

When the earth is shaken with a mighty quake,

وَأَخْرَجَتِ ٱلْأَرْضُ أَثْقَالَهَا ﴿٢﴾

and the earth throws out its burdens[1],

وَقَالَ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ مَا لَهَا ﴿٣﴾

and man says[2], “What is the matter with it?”

يَوْمَئِذٍۢ تُحَدِّثُ أَخْبَارَهَا ﴿٤﴾

On that Day it will recount all its news,

بِأَنَّ رَبَّكَ أَوْحَىٰ لَهَا ﴿٥﴾

because your Lord has inspired it [to do so].

يَوْمَئِذٍۢ يَصْدُرُ ٱلنَّاسُ أَشْتَاتًۭا لِّيُرَوْاْ أَعْمَٰلَهُمْ ﴿٦﴾

On that Day all people will come forward in separate groups to be shown their deeds[3].

فَمَن يَعْمَلْ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ خَيْرًۭا يَرَهُۥ ﴿٧﴾

So whoever does an atom’s weight[4] of good will see it,

وَمَن يَعْمَلْ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍۢ شَرًّۭا يَرَهُۥ ﴿٨﴾

and whoever does an atom’s weight of evil will see it.
