English - Mubarakpuri Surah Al-Muzzammil (The One wrapped in Garments) - Aya count 20
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلْمُزَّمِّلُ ﴿١﴾
قُمِ ٱلَّيْلَ إِلَّا قَلِيلًۭا ﴿٢﴾
Stand (to pray) all night, except a little.
نِّصْفَهُۥٓ أَوِ ٱنقُصْ مِنْهُ قَلِيلًا ﴿٣﴾
Half of it or less than that, a little.
أَوْ زِدْ عَلَيْهِ وَرَتِّلِ ٱلْقُرْءَانَ تَرْتِيلًا ﴿٤﴾
Or a little more. And Rattil the Qur'an Tartil.
إِنَّا سَنُلْقِى عَلَيْكَ قَوْلًۭا ثَقِيلًا ﴿٥﴾
Verily, We shall send down to you a Word Thaqil.
إِنَّ نَاشِئَةَ ٱلَّيْلِ هِىَ أَشَدُّ وَطْـًۭٔا وَأَقْوَمُ قِيلًا ﴿٦﴾
Verily, rising (Nashi'ah) at night is better for understanding and more suitable for speech (recitation).
إِنَّ لَكَ فِى ٱلنَّهَارِ سَبْحًۭا طَوِيلًۭا ﴿٧﴾
Verily, for you in the day is lengthy Sabh.
وَٱذْكُرِ ٱسْمَ رَبِّكَ وَتَبَتَّلْ إِلَيْهِ تَبْتِيلًۭا ﴿٨﴾
And remember the Name of your Lord and (Tabattil) devote yourself to Him with complete devotion.
رَّبُّ ٱلْمَشْرِقِ وَٱلْمَغْرِبِ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ فَٱتَّخِذْهُ وَكِيلًۭا ﴿٩﴾
Lord of the east and the west; La ilaha illa Huwa, so take Him as a trustee.
وَٱصْبِرْ عَلَىٰ مَا يَقُولُونَ وَٱهْجُرْهُمْ هَجْرًۭا جَمِيلًۭا ﴿١٠﴾
And be patient with what they say, and keep away from them in a good way.
وَذَرْنِى وَٱلْمُكَذِّبِينَ أُوْلِى ٱلنَّعْمَةِ وَمَهِّلْهُمْ قَلِيلًا ﴿١١﴾
And leave Me alone to deal with the deniers, those who are in possession of good things of life. And give them respite for a little.
إِنَّ لَدَيْنَآ أَنكَالًۭا وَجَحِيمًۭا ﴿١٢﴾
Verily, with Us are Ankal, and Jahim.
وَطَعَامًۭا ذَا غُصَّةٍۢ وَعَذَابًا أَلِيمًۭا ﴿١٣﴾
And a food that chokes, and a painful torment.
يَوْمَ تَرْجُفُ ٱلْأَرْضُ وَٱلْجِبَالُ وَكَانَتِ ٱلْجِبَالُ كَثِيبًۭا مَّهِيلًا ﴿١٤﴾
On the Day when the earth and the mountains will (Tarjufu) shake, and the mountains will be a heap of sand poured out.
إِنَّآ أَرْسَلْنَآ إِلَيْكُمْ رَسُولًۭا شَٰهِدًا عَلَيْكُمْ كَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَآ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ رَسُولًۭا ﴿١٥﴾
Verily, We have sent to you a Messenger to be a witness over you, as We did send a Messenger to Fir`awn.
فَعَصَىٰ فِرْعَوْنُ ٱلرَّسُولَ فَأَخَذْنَٰهُ أَخْذًۭا وَبِيلًۭا ﴿١٦﴾
But Fir`awn disobeyed the Messenger; so We seized him with a severe punishment.
فَكَيْفَ تَتَّقُونَ إِن كَفَرْتُمْ يَوْمًۭا يَجْعَلُ ٱلْوِلْدَٰنَ شِيبًا ﴿١٧﴾
Then how can you protect yourselves from the punishment, if you disbelieve, on a Day that will make the children gray-headed
ٱلسَّمَآءُ مُنفَطِرٌۢ بِهِۦ ۚ كَانَ وَعْدُهُۥ مَفْعُولًا ﴿١٨﴾
Whereon the heaven will be cleft asunder His promise is certainly to be accomplished.
إِنَّ هَٰذِهِۦ تَذْكِرَةٌۭ ۖ فَمَن شَآءَ ٱتَّخَذَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِۦ سَبِيلًا ﴿١٩﴾
Verily, this is an admonition, therefore whosoever wills, let him take a path to His Lord!
۞ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ يَعْلَمُ أَنَّكَ تَقُومُ أَدْنَىٰ مِن ثُلُثَىِ ٱلَّيْلِ وَنِصْفَهُۥ وَثُلُثَهُۥ وَطَآئِفَةٌۭ مِّنَ ٱلَّذِينَ مَعَكَ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ يُقَدِّرُ ٱلَّيْلَ وَٱلنَّهَارَ ۚ عَلِمَ أَن لَّن تُحْصُوهُ فَتَابَ عَلَيْكُمْ ۖ فَٱقْرَءُواْ مَا تَيَسَّرَ مِنَ ٱلْقُرْءَانِ ۚ عَلِمَ أَن سَيَكُونُ مِنكُم مَّرْضَىٰ ۙ وَءَاخَرُونَ يَضْرِبُونَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ يَبْتَغُونَ مِن فَضْلِ ٱللَّهِ ۙ وَءَاخَرُونَ يُقَٰتِلُونَ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ ۖ فَٱقْرَءُواْ مَا تَيَسَّرَ مِنْهُ ۚ وَأَقِيمُواْ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتُواْ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَأَقْرِضُواْ ٱللَّهَ قَرْضًا حَسَنًۭا ۚ وَمَا تُقَدِّمُواْ لِأَنفُسِكُم مِّنْ خَيْرٍۢ تَجِدُوهُ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ هُوَ خَيْرًۭا وَأَعْظَمَ أَجْرًۭا ۚ وَٱسْتَغْفِرُواْ ٱللَّهَ ۖ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٌۭ رَّحِيمٌۢ ﴿٢٠﴾
Verily, your Lord knows that you do stand a little less than two-thirds of the night, or half the night, or a third of the night, and also a party of those with you. And Allah measures the night and the day. He knows that you are unable to pray the whole night, so He has turned to you. So, recite you of the Qur'an as much as may be easy for you. He knows that there will be some among you sick, others traveling through the land, seeking of Allah's bounty, yet others fighting in Allah's cause. So recite as much of the Qur'an as may be easy,
